I thought of you when we asked the locals in Port Arthur Texas about going to the beach (The Gulf of Mexico).

They started telling us about how muddy the water is there and how it's not the nicest place to go to the beach.

Now why did I think of you?

Well, I know a little bit about how much dirt, chemicals, and fertilizer can run off of commercial Farm ground when it rains.

The rain washes it into the Mississippi River, then right into the Gulf of Mexico.

Here's the picture I brought back for you.

Does this water look clean to you?

Just look at that farm ground right there in the Gulf of Mexico.

No, I don't think this is the end of the world or anything to get terribly worked up about. But, I do believe that we should be responsible for how we care for the land and do what we can to make a difference.

Now, when you and your friends purchase more and more of your food from grass-based, regenerative farms, you are making a difference! A BIG difference. These farms do not use chemicals and have grass growing or cover crops that keep the soil from eroding and washing away.

I understand the cost may be a bit more and here is why, we cannot compete with the conventional farmers that must focus more on quantity to make a living.  In the process I'm producing  larger volumes to pay their bills they lose quality.

Quality not only includes clean, fresh, locally grown, and nutrient dense food. But, also caring for people, animals, environment, and our local communities in an ethical way.

Thank you so much for making a difference by where you choose to buy your food.

Sincerely,
