One of the best ways to tell if our soil is healthy is if the earthworms are thriving.

Earthworms are the very thing we love to see in the dirt. They are key performance indicators revealing how soil conditions are great for the microbiology (which the naked eye cannot see).

If we as farmers are treating the soil with lots of commercial fertilizers and harmful chemicals, life is being killed off. The ability to produce a nutrient-dense food is extremely unlikely when utilizing this type of chemical-heavy farming.

Conversely, regenerative agriculture creates harmony in nature. When I’m out working with livestock, I see firsthand how the animals’ waste / manure feeds the soil while simultaneously their grazing activity stimulates even more microbial life that then promotes healthy insects. This healthy symbiotic relationship eliminates the need for chemical warfare.

All said and done, when we have healthy soil, we have healthy animals which makes healthy food for you and your family who are all coming together to create a healthy community!
