Our Farming Practices
Is your beef 100% grass-fed?
Yes. Our 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef comes from cattle that graze on open green pastures in the summer and eat dried grasses or hay during the winter. They never consume grain or soy.
What is the difference between "Premium" and "Standard" beef?
Premium Beef: Raised under our direct stewardship on our farm in West Alexandria. It follows our strictest protocols: 100% grass-fed, grass-finished, and "Never-Ever" (no GMOs, antibiotics, or steroids).
Standard Beef: Sourced from Marksbury Farm, a trusted partner who shares our regenerative values, offered at a more accessible price point for everyday meals.
What does "Regenerative Farming" mean?
It is a method of grazing that heals the land. By rotating our animals frequently, we build healthy soil that sequesters carbon and improves water retention, creating a diverse ecosystem.

Do you offer free shipping?
Does The Maker's Meadow have a farm store?
We do not have a walk-in retail farm store at this time. However, local customers can place orders online and select "On-Farm Pickup" during checkout.
When can I pick up my order?
All pickup orders are available at the farm on Thursdays between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Shipping & Quality
Does the meat arrive frozen?
Yes. Your order is hand-packed in insulated liners with dry ice or gel packs to ensure it arrives frozen or cold to the touch and ready for your freezer.
Why does grass-fed beef taste different?
Grass-fed beef has a cleaner, more robust flavor that reflects the diverse pastures the cattle eat. It is naturally leaner and more nutrient-dense than grain-fed beef.
