Instant Pot Beef Short Ribs
Tender, mouth-watering Beef Short Ribs prepared in an Instant Pot.

  • (3 lbs.) Beef Short Ribs
  • (2 tbsp) Olive oil
  • (1 cup) Bone broth or beef bone broth
  • (2 tbsp) Apple cider vinegar
  • (1 tbsp) Brown sugar
  • (1 tsp) Garlic powder
  • (1 tsp) Onion powder
  • (1 tsp) Paprika
  • (to taste) Salt & pepper
  • (optional) Rosemary or chopped green onion to garnish


  1. Season the short ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Set the Instant Pot to the "Sauté" function and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the short ribs and brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your Instant Pot.
  3. Once all the ribs are browned, add the broth, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar to the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
  4. Close the lid and set the valve to the "Sealing" position. Cook on high pressure for 35-40 minutes, depending on the thickness of your short ribs.
  5. When the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then do a quick release for any remaining pressure.
  6. Carefully open the lid and remove the short ribs from the Instant Pot. Skim any excess fat and broth from the pot and store.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with rosemary or chopped green onions if desired.
