Wild-Caught Integrity: Sustainable Alaskan Seafood for Lent

Most store-bought fish is farmed in crowded pens and treated with synthetic dyes. At The Maker’s Meadow, we believe your Lenten meals should be as pure as possible. We source our seafood directly from the pristine waters of Bristol Bay, Alaska, ensuring you get wild-caught salmon and whitefish that are 100% chemical-free and non-GMO.

Why Wild-Caught? Wild Alaskan fish are naturally higher in Omega-3 fatty acids and free from the antibiotics found in aquaculture. Our fish are flash-frozen at the peak of freshness to preserve their nutrient-dense profile. Whether you are observing Lent or simply seeking the highest quality sustainable seafood, our annual harvest sale is the best time to stock your freezer with fish that supports both your health and a healthy ocean ecosystem.

From the Icy Waters of Bristol Bay: A Partnership of Integrity

Most consumers do not know where their food comes from—do you? At The Maker’s Meadow, we believe in radical transparency, which is why we’ve partnered with Wild Alaska Salmon & Seafood.

The story of your salmon didn’t happen overnight. In the early 1990s, Tony Wood was an Alaskan Sport Fishing Guide, flying clients into remote, pristine waters to experience the natural abundance of the wild. When his clients asked where they could find that same artisan quality back home, Tony realized the industrial supply chain couldn't provide it. He sold his plane, bought a boat, and dedicated himself to bringing wild-caught salmon directly to the people.

For over 20 years, Tony and his family-owned company have harvested fish from Bristol Bay, Alaska—the gold standard for flavor and nutrient density. Unlike large corporate fishing fleets, Captain Tony maintains his own private fishing and processing crew, ensuring every fish is handled with personal care. Through this partnership, we are able to bypass the middleman and deliver clean, chemical-free Alaskan seafood directly to your door in Ohio. It’s more than a name; it’s a commitment to quality you can taste in every bite.
